Sean Astin (aka Samwise Gamgee), was injured while shooting tFOTR as he rushed into the river after Frodo and basically impaled his foot in a piece of glass. He was taken to the emergencies by helicopter.
A real hobbit foot might have been slightly scratched at the most but a prosthetic hobbit foot offers no protection to the human foot.
